Alli doesn’t like it when I shave. If this relationship had been occurring a year or so ago, that wouldn’t have been problematic, because my ability to grow facial hair that can be seen is a recent development. But now it does grow in, and it was starting to turn into a neckbeard, so we (and by we I mean I) compromised.
I now have a goatee for the first time in my life. I suddenly am interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee and snowboarding. The biggest douchebag I know likes those things, at any rate…
ETA: Darryl from The Office graces my calendar for the month of April, and it looks like he is standing on my shoulder, a tiny shoulder angel from Dunder-Mifflin.
I, on the other hand, am a bit of a lumpy gnome with weird tastes in fashion and music, and I am also fairly certain my knuckles bend the wrong way. So it’s all up to her.
But yes. She is pretty adorable. If you’re into that sort of thing. I guess. (I might be. I dunno. Who’s asking?!)
My mother decided for Christmas that we’d buy my grandparents each a pair of Toms, and then she’d have me paint them. I sort of forgot about them until last week, so I brought them home with me to work on over break.
These are for my grandma; she and my grandpa have a ginormous rose garden, and especially since she’s retired she spends a lot of time in it.
Pictures of my grandpa’s shoes to come once I’ve made them :)
Alli is more talented than I am at most things, and while I would normally find that upsetting and cause for increased competition, with her I just kind of sit back dumbstruck and look at the things she does.
Just another instance of Ryan’s overwhelming romanticism.
Dating me is like being around a fountain of golden warmth and kindness, uninhibited generosity, and above all sensitivity.
6 months of simple joy and quiet companionship, with the continued and constant support of the occasional photo-bomber.
Things I have learned in six months of dating Alli:
By the end of the movie, we were both clutching each other. I was peeping out from behind her hair, and she had buried her face in her scarf. When it got to the scary bits, I just closed my eyes and waited for her to jump so I knew I could open them again.
…aaaand the card.
Bow ties (and Alli) are cool.
